Instructional Management and Data
The Instructional Management and Data Domain brings together several critical factors in the development of an effective school. These factors comprise the domain strands which when woven together in a structured, systematic way create the tapestry that will serve as the BASIS for academic acceleration and achievement.
Strong schools rely on a strong structural foundation that includes the effective use of data. JP has developed a series of strategies that help principals, coaches and teachers establish concrete objectives, identify data that lets staff know if those objectives are being achieved and helps instructional staff manage and analyze data so it can be used to improve instruction and increase student achievement.
The core objectives of the Instructional Management and Data Domain include:
- To increase understanding of the importance of allocating appropriate instructional time
- To increase the amount of time students are actually engaged in academic instruction
- To increase staff ability to appropriately test and place students equitably in groups
- To increase the use of data as a tool to guide and form instruction
